Our Team

Hello everyone my name is Dr. Allen A. Dubolino, and I am truly honored to be a part of the creation of Tokyo International Kindercare. I am originally from the United States and am an educational leader with over 10 years of experience in the US and abroad. I’ve spent the past several years as the head of both a Singaporean international school, and an American international school. It is with great joy and excitement that I accept my third headship as director of TIK. I am committed to helping TIK actualize its dream of bringing world-class international education to families in Japan. I believe in developing cooperative learning strategies in both teachers and students, so that student leaders can be empowered to take control of their own learning, lives, and community. I believe that by empowering students we give them the freedom to maximize their learning potential, and the power to set their own path in life, rather than just following the paths of those that came before them. I understand that children’s education must be fostered through an intimate and open connection between home and school. Parents and educators must work hand in hand to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which children can flourish. My ultimate goal at TIK is to create a warm family-like environment that is entrenched in moral and social values. Quite simply, we want TIK to be a place where families want to be. A place where, side-by-side, hand in hand, we can all learn and grow together as a family. Welcome to TIK!

As a mother of 3 beautiful boys I know how complicated and challenging it is choosing a school for your kids. After living 7 years overseas with my husband, and having the privilege of sending my kids to the best International Schools available, I was very concerned when my husband decided to return to Japan. Could we find a new school that would meet the needs of our family in Tokyo? When my family returned to Tokyo I was surprised with the fact that there were not many international schools available in Tokyo. The lack of available schools made it difficult for me to find a proper placement for my sons, and after consulting with my friends in Tokyo I realized that many of their families experienced the same issues. It was with this in mind that we decided to found TIK, a place in which “State of the Art” Education is affordable and accessible to both Japanese and International Families in Tokyo. A school in which international and Japanese values are taught to all of our students. Our School aims to provide a place in which your children can develop both their artistic and academic sides with special emphasis given to Music and the Arts. This creates a unique and fun environment that promotes creativity and spiritual wellness from an early age, with a positive, creative, and responsible approach to life. Welcome to the TIK family!

Hello, I'm Yuko Suzuki. I am a Houikushi certified teacher that has been teaching children aged 1 to 12 years old in English for 9 years. I love children and being able to support them to learn in joyful ways while always providing a warm and family-like environment for all of my students. I believe that all children are unique and possess wonderful talents. Therefore it is my goal to help expose them to many new life experiences so that they are able to find what they really love to do. I also want to help children understand how big the world around them is and all of the wonderful opportunities that it possesses. It is truly a blessing for me to have the opportunity to work with your children, help them grow, and to see their beautiful smiles everyday! Welcome to TIK!

Hello, My name is Mai Hayashi. I am the office manager here at TIK. My main job is to manage phone calls, emails and do other necessary paper works. I grew up in Japan and spent most of my life living in Hokkaido. I grew up in a very small town where I did not have a chance to meet people from overseas. After entering junior high school, it was the first time in my life where I had the opportunity to meet " English " My school had a exchange program in the States and every year, senior students used to go overseas for the exchange program. I was so interested in that program that when I became a senior, I applied for that program and got a chance to go overseas for the first time in my life. Though it was such a short experience, that experience changed my life in a major way. Since then, I've been studying English for a long time. I have spent several years living abroad in Canada, which has enriched my life is so many ways. I enjoy learning new things everyday, meet new people from different countries, backgrounds, cultures and so on. Not only that, I've also learned so many new things from my experiences that it also helped me to look at my own country and culture with a new perspective. Upon returning to Japan after several years overseas, I thought it would be very nice if I could put these new experiences to a good use by working with children in International Schools to help provide them with the same type of life-chaning experiences that I had myself. So here I am at TIK working as an office staff. I am happy to work with great teachers from different countries and also our wonderful students. We are all different. That makes us special and our life richer! We are hoping to meet many new friends and families here at TIK and hope they will have a great experience with us and grow up to be the future leaders of tomorrow. Welcome to TIK!
Ms. Mai
Hello everyone, my name is Mr. Kee and I am from the United States of America. I earned both my bachelors and master’s degree in the US and am a fully licensed teacher in America. I came to Japan in 2003, to travel and get to know the world, and I have now been here for over 10 years teaching English to all age groups from babies to retired people. Over the course of my stay here in Japan my interest in teaching has made a gradual shift from teaching older students to younger ones. I now enjoy teaching early learners the most because everyday is different with them. With early learners, I get to see students grow very quickly and become native level speakers. The last 5 years I have spent teaching Early Childhood Education at international preschools and kindergartens and this age group has become my favorite group to teach and interact with. I look forward to working with your children and seeing them learn and grow into confident and independent individuals. Welcome to TIK!

Hi my name is Rhianon Robertson; I am 27 years old and am originally from Gold Coast, Australia. I am very excited to join the TIK team where I hope to learn and grow not only as a teacher but also a person. I am a very passionate and enthusiastic teacher with over 7 years experience working with young children in Australia and Japan combined. I hold my Certificate III and Diploma in Children’s Services in Australia and am currently completing my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education online through an Australian University. I believe that children are strong and inventive beans, who have vivid imaginations and great learning potential if given ample opportunities. I always strive to provide children with these opportunities, so that they are able to flourish within their school environment and grow into confident involved learners. I am committed to incorporating play into early learning environments, as I believe play is vital to early childhood education. It is a time for children to express how they are feeling and how they see the world, which is an important part of growing. Through play, children are driven with a force to learn new concepts and ideas and I strongly believe that a young child’s play directly effects their development. I believe that parent, teacher and community collaborations and contributions are crucial to any successful classroom. A child’s family and their life outside of school have a major impact inside the classroom. Therefore I believe that collaborating together will enable me to give your children the opportunity to reach their full potential at school. I look forward to working with you, the families and your children as we both embark on this exciting journey together. Welcome to TIK!

I was surprised and amazed at how early childhood education in New Zealand was so different from how it is in Japan. I was so impressed by the educational system in New Zealand for young children that I decided to attend university there and major in Early Childhood Education. I am now proud to say that I am a fully registered and qualified New Zealand teacher. I also have five years of work experience as a teacher at Early Childhood Educational Centres in New Zealand. Hello everyone, my name is Emmie and I am originally from London, England. I graduated from the University of Northampton with a Bachelor of Arts degree and possess a teaching certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. As a child, I grew up in a home of educators. My mother is a kindergarten teacher and I spent a lot of time volunteering as an assistant in her classes over the years. It is through this experience that I quickly realized how rewarding it is to work with young children. Then after graduating university I decided to pursue a career in education full-time and I was lucky enough to find a home here in Japan, a country I had long admire for its rich culture and commitment to innovation. The early-years of a child’s education are the most vital years in their life and set the foundations for their social, emotional, physical, and academic futures. Children are fearless, open-minded, and absorb new information effortlessly. This makes early childhood education a unique once in a lifetime opportunity that must be taken full advantage of. I find working with children incredibly rewarding and being able to watch them as they grow and make their way up through school is extremely fulfilling. I am so excited to be part of the TIK family and I am truly looking forward to watching the development of all TIK children as we grow and learn together!

My name is Jesus. Thank you for welcoming me to Tokyo International Kindercare. I arrived in Japan several years ago from the United States. Really, it was my desire to be an international citizen that pulled me into the greater world and with that I set out for my undiscovered life. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Japan. Shimane-ken is a magical place and through it I discovered my love for Japan and her people. For five years, I lived in Izumo-shi and immersed myself in Japanese culture and history. I traveled the Japanese archipelago and met some unique people. As a civil servant, I was lucky enough to have worked in the public school system. My English teaching position allowed me to help my students explore the confusing and fascinating world of English language communication. In exchange my mentors and my students helped me learn about myself and develop my skills. And so I have come to Tokyo to give back after so much has been given to me. My life has been dedicated to helping people understand and navigate their worlds through the gift of education. And with that spirit I begin a new adventure at TIK helping your children learn and grow. Using all the resources we have; your support and our experience, I know we can compel the students at TIK to be better versions of themselves and prepare your children to become leaders on a global scale. Together we're going to change the world.

Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I feel so honored to be a part of the TIK Family. I’ve spent the entirety of my life living in Japan, the U.S., and Thailand. As a child, I always had a passion for children, and dreamt of becoming a teacher one day. Being an international school graduate myself, I hoped to begin that dream in an international school. After I graduated from high school, I decided to go study abroad in Seattle, Washington where I gained my degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus in Children Studies. In Seattle, I also had the opportunity to volunteer for several child-advocate foundations and work in a private preschool. During my college years, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what to do next with my life, and my heart led me back to Japan! I decided to come back to Japan because I have always admired the Japanese culture, food, and its people. I love the positive mind each Japanese person possesses and deeply respect how everyone is so hardworking. I feel that by living in Japan I will have the opportunity to grown both personally and professionally. My goal in life is to help children succeed and always be there for them when they need me. I believe that children are our future and I want to make sure I provide them with the skills they need for success in all areas of their lives. I'm looking forward to working closely with all TIK families to ensure that our children grow up in the best environment possible so that they can one day make our world a better place! Hello everyone, my name is Ms. Shiori and I am very excited to be back at TIK! While I was pursuing an undergraduate degree in Child Development at Michigan State, I completed my internship at TIK. This experience gave me a whole new perspective of international education. This inspired me to rejoin TIK as a full-time staff member after graduation, so I am extremely happy to be back. Teaching, promoting child development, and learning have always been my life’s passions. As a child I spent much of my life living overseas and attending international schools. Through my experience and research, I have found that all children need support to learn and grow and have unique styles, preferences, and pace. As a teacher, I want to create a safe and stimulating environment that encourages and supports student initiatives so that they can successfully grow and develop a foundation for global success.
